James F. Croft
Mr. Croft is Chairman & CEO of RED’s investment banking unit, RED Capital Markets, LLC, and is a member of RED Capital Group's Board of Directors and its Executive Management Committee. As Chairman & CEO of RED Capital Markets, LLC, he oversees RED’s investment banking activities including tax-exempt and taxable bond underwriting and sales and trading. In addition, he is directly involved in RED’s Mortgage Banking Services business, partnering in various ways with other mortgage banking firms, providing alternate financing options and capital, as well as access to RED’s Capital Market’s sales and trading platform.
He joined RED Capital Group's predecessor entity in April 1991, is regarded as a national expert in the tax-exempt financing of multifamily housing and health care (including seniors, assisted living and nursing) projects and has senior managed over $2.0 billion of fixed and variable rate housing and health care bond issues. His broad range of transaction experience covers new money issues, current refundings, advance refundings, residual value extraction transactions, complex loan workout restructurings and default refundings, and Section 8 assisted projects. He has deep experience with multifamily and seniors mortgage debt, with particular expertise regarding FHA insured mortgage loans, GNMA mortgage-backed securities, and Fannie Mae MBS/DUS loans. He served on the Board of Directors for the National Leased Housing Association based in Washington, D.C. and on the Board of Directors of the Ohio Housing Council and served as its president in 2003-2004. Mr. Croft graduated from The Ohio State University and is a non-practicing Certified Public Accountant.
