David L. Goodman
David Goodman is Senior Advisor of RED Capital Group. He was Chairman and CEO of RED Mortgage Capital and its predecessor, Banc One Capital Funding, of which Mark Beisler and he were founders. He has worked in multifamily finance for over 35 years and has been mortgage banker and/or bond underwriter to over 400 housing and healthcare finance transactions. As Senior Advisor, David originates, nourishes and maintains relationships with the current generation of nationally prominent borrowers and mentors the next generation of nationally prominent lenders.
His career in multifamily housing finance started on the technical side by originating and structuring a number of notable transactions in the field of tax exempt housing bonds including: the first tax exempt multifamily housing bond issued under the 103(b)(4)(A) regulations; the first tax-exempt/taxable GNMA MBS backed multifamily bond issue; and the first tax-exempt co-insured 221(d)(4) bond issue. He followed up these achievements by leading RED Mortgage Capital during a period of high growth, expanding the firm's products and specialties from affordable housing to conventional market rent and seniors housing/healthcare as well as growing the firm's footprint from regional to national lender. As Senior Advisor, he has remained dedicated to his clients and executed some of the largest Fannie Mae and FHA multifamily financings ever closed. While David remains 101% committed to his customers and colleagues, he is often found on the satellite phone talking business from one of the world renowned salmon pools of the Grand Cascapedia River in Canada.
Mr. Goodman was graduated from the University of Virginia as an Echols Scholar and received his Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia and practiced law in New York City briefly before entering the finance field.
